Curator’s notes
## Inspiration
We often hear from designers, creators, and meme-makers who have brilliant ideas for tools but lack the technical skills to build them. That gap between creativity and code inspired us to create ToolSmith — a platform where creators can become builders without writing a single line of code.
## What it does
ToolSmith lets users describe the tool they want in plain language, and it generates a functional mini web app for them. Users can publish their tools, share them in a public gallery, and even add monetization links — turning ideas into reality in minutes.
## How we built it
I used **Bolt** to build a clean, intuitive front-end with mock authentication, protected routes, and a tool gallery. The core feature is the natural language tool builder, designed to eventually plug into an AI backend. We also added features for tool publishing, profile tracking, and monetization support.
## Challenges we ran into
Designing a system that builds other tools required us to think deeply about user flow, clarity, and edge cases — especially for non-coders. Also, there were a lot if details to care of the UI.
## Accomplishments that we're proud of
I created a clean, smooth UI with the **idea of a tool to build tools**.
## What we learned
We got a hands-on experience of basic **Vibe Coding** and variuos tools we tried for it( example, Bolt, Vibe Studio, Lovable, Supabase, Claude). Also, I got a rough idea of what goes on behind the scenes while using an app/website and how AI can aid **productivity** (the domain I chose to work on).
## What's next for ToolSmith
We plan to integrate a live AI backend, enable one-click deployment of tools, and build a creator-friendly ecosystem with remixing, social features, and community sharing — empowering creators everywhere to build, monetize, and innovate.
